Sex sells or so they say, but when browsing for used clothing online would you rather see a dummy or a scantily clad female in your potential purchase?


One lady who isn't shy about wearing ill fitting clothes (even men's clothing which is far too large for her) uses this tactic, but we never see the mystery lady's face.



She likes to leave something to the imagination I suppose.



Are online auction site's an exhibitionist's dream or is stripping down and jumping into a big ass boiler suit all in a days work for a sole trading auction seller?

Genuine Maharishi Coat....or is it?

A seller on eBay was auctioning off a genuine Maharishi ladies jacket, or so she says. This seller has 97.1% positive feed back, 102 positive, and 3 negative in the last 12 months. Would you trust this person?



Apparently it from the seriously expensive range:

awesome mhi jacket made from genuine leather and Sheepskin wool lining. This was given as a christmas gift and although there is no marking or sign it is maharishi (odd i know) i promise it is!, its from the seriously expensive range where they dont even need to put a label on it!

I don't know if this is true or a false, but if you are asking people to pony up for a super expensive designer jacket, it would be a good idea to post a link or two to a site which verifies the story of no labels on the garment. Whether they are lying or telling the truth, their story is less believeable when they post:

... this is RARE!, and wont be on ebay again, RRP £500+ and this wont be going for anything less than three digits so bid early as once 12 hours is left i will cancel auction if price is not met, buy it nows are welcome and pls check other items.

Hurry, hurry give me your money, that's what I'm hearing. Rather than espousing the plus points of the jacket, how heads will turn towards you, how you will instantly become really cool, or even how warm it is, the seller tells us they will cancel the listing if they don't think they are going to get enough for it. Hello? That's what a reserve bid is for! It's a fine line between marketing something and using the same language that a scammer would use. "Buy it nows are welcome?" Why didn't they stick a buy it now option on the listing then with how much they would be prepared to take for it then?

More information like sizes from collar to hem, shoulder to cuff would have been most welcome in a listing like this. Coupled with all that, they chose the cheapest possible layout to showcase this outstanding coat. Please, if you want top dollar on auction items you are selling, see them from the perspective of a buyer and don't make the mistake of selling yourself short.

Obviously this will get a lot less type in traffic than sex.com but for an informational site about the birds and the bees, I can't think of a better name. Keep an eye on this one as I think it will pop off pretty high.

Derren Brown PURE EFFECT magic and mentalism book

Derren Brown has been described as the world's only living jedi. This isn't too far from the truth if you have caught his shows on tv. He is able to bamboozle bystanders with a mix of magic, misdirection, mentalism, hypnnosis and showmanship.

Before his tv fame though, he was but a humbl magician, albeit with a penchant for taxidermy. Derren wrote a book, which is now out of print called Pure Effect where he discusses some of the tricks of the trade, and how he approaches performing his routines.

Life Sized Figures

I found this life sized figure of a Warhammer Orc. Can you imagine just trying to get to sleep with that in your room? It made me wonder what other life sized figures are out there. Here are a couple.

If the orc freaks you out too much how about everyone's favourite terminator Arnie. This shiny head is from a cast that was taken of his head for the movie Batman and Robin. It is so detailed that individual pores are visible.

Feeling Batty? - Get a Batman Costume

Ever since I was a small child I have had a fascination with Batman. He was much cooler than Superman, and I happened to get a Batman costume one Christmas. It still hangs in my wardrobe but is unfortunately way too small.

Coming across these costume auctions below awakened old crime fighting ideas. Seller Goth100 is hanging up his cape and cowl.


The cape is made totally from valour. Goth100 even gives tips on what special product to get the close fitting cowl on, and what a superhero should use to guard against an overly sweaty costume. It's very popular having reached £700 already so if you want it bid here.

Not just as popular is a second Batman full reproduction costume which seems more modelled on the Michael Keaton movie. Maybe it's the camera flash but it seems to have an unfeasibly large codpiece.

50 year old Pine Bros Cough Drops

1994 Personal Diary of Anna Nicole Smith

Dear Diary,
today I found an auction that made me think Ewww...that's a bit off. It was an auction for the diary of Anna Nicole Smith, the troubled lady who died barely over a month ago on the 8th Feb. First people selling Anna Nicole domain names and now this. At first i thought that it was just a joke listing but seller universalrarities is selling a few other Anna Nicole items, and the diary comes with a certificate of authenticity.

What troubled me was wondering whether Anna Nicole would have wanted her personal thougths up for auction for all the world to peer into. Bidding started at a hefty $25,000 but has had 2 bids surprisingly. I wonder who would bid on a item like this?

Monty Python Black Knight from Holy Grail

None shall pass!

I remember watching the nutcase that is the Black Knight in the Monty Python film The Holy Grail, but never imagined that a figure would be made of him. which is one of the lesser well known, or weaker, extensions. Download.com would be worth millions while Download.hn would not be worth anywhere near that amount.
